Come and write about Korean entertainment with Beyond Hallyu!

Here at Beyond Hallyu we’re not scared of a controversial opinion. Look how shocked Yoona is. Just look at her.

Do you know far more than is healthy about K-pop, Korean film, drama or variety shows? Always boring your friends by over-analysing your favourite music videos? Want to talk more seriously about the role of Hallyu and have your opinions heard? A little bit cynical sometimes but love it really? There is a space for you on our team.

Beyond Hallyu are looking for new writers to join our team. Positions are currently voluntary but we do try to offer our writers perks like DVDs, books and tickets when we can. It is also good experience for aspiring writers looking to gain experience and build a portfolio.

We know that our readers appreciate many different styles of writing and so we try to offer our writers as much creative freedom as we can. However we are also more than happy to help out with any advice or guidance if and when you require it.

All we ask is that you:

  1. Are very interested in and knowledgeable about Korean pop culture
  2. Have a unique perspective and something to say
  3. Can commit to 1-2 articles a month

As a new writer at BH, you would be joining a team of like-minded people passionate about Korean entertainment and culture. You don’t need to be an expert but we do want people who have interesting opinions and a can-do attitude.

If you are interested, send us a sample article of 400-1200 words that you think would fit in well with our website. Write within one of our existing styles or pitch us a new feature. We’re open to new ideas!

Send your sample articles to submissions@beyondhallyu.com and we will get back to if we think you would fit in with the team. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email, tweet us @BeyondHallyu or leave a comment here.

DEADLINE: 28th November

We are also still looking for music writers. If you are interested find out more here.
