London Korean Film Festival 2015 has released the full schedule for its 10th anniversary

Yes, it’s that time of year again. Undoubtedly the biggest Korea-related event in the UK’s cultural calendar is back and, for it’s tenth birthday, it’s even bigger than ever. This year’s London Korean Film Festival runs from 2 to 14 November and is presenting a whopping 52 film schedule across 10 different venues.

This year the spotlight is on veteran actor Hwang Jung-min who is the star of Opening Gala blockbuster Ode To My Father which is one of the highest grossing films in Korean box office history and will be doing Q&As both for this film and his other hit film from this year, Veteran. Renowned actress Moon So-ri will also be making a couple of appearances including a Q&A for the closing gala showing Zhang Lu’s Love And… – an interestingly cerebral and arty choice for the big finisher.

Busan International Film Festival programmer Nam Dong-chul and expert film critic Tony Rayns will also be making a number of appearances – no doubt with much insight into the Korean film industry. There are also a number of strands in the festival including a mini retrospective on the massive influence of CJ Entertainment on Korean film as they celebrate 20 years, a look at some of Korea’s most promising emerging directors as well as a look way back to some classics from the 1960s.

As always, if you’re into something different, there’s also plenty of documentaries, shorts and animation to choose from.

It’s clear LKFF’s organisers have gone all out for the big 1-0 and it looks like it will be a great event for anyone who cares about Korean film.
