Hi-Lite Records rappers B-Free and Okasian will perform in London in November

Hip hop artists B-Free and Okasian are coming to London on the 17th November for a one-night-only Korean hip hop showcase.

The rappers who are both from Hi-Lite Records – the home of the internet’s new favourite viral K-hip hop star Keith Ape – will be joined by local artists Zone 17 with more London artists to be announced. Hi-Lite’s DJ Djanga will also be in charge of the after party.

Okasian also featured in the extremely popular It G Ma

It’ll take place in the Miranda bar in the basement of the Ace London Hotel in Shoreditch kicking off at 8pm with the after party running until 3am. It’s only a small venue holding 250 people but the event organisers want the show to be intimate and casual and the rappers will be mixing and engaging with the audience throughout the night.

The ever-controversial B-Free is not a man known for holding back and Okasian can definitely put in a performance so no doubt it’ll be a night to remember.

The focus will be on the music with Facebook event page for the show saying “a key focus of the night is mood, atmosphere and a total lack of pretension. The music will speak for itself.” That sounds promising.

Most exciting of all is the promise that there will be more of these shows in future. The promoters are keen to build connections between the underground hip hop scenes in Korea and the UK which could be great news both for the artists and for UK fans of Korean hip hop.

Tickets prices will go up to £35 but early bird tickets are already on sale for only £15 so it’s best to get in there quickly!

In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the music.

The Currency Exchange Show #1 will take place on 17th November at 8pm in Miranda at Art Hotel London, Shoreditch. Tickets for the show can be purchased here and more info can be found on the Facebook event page
